General Office information:
Office Hours:

The office closes for most recognized holidays and occasionally on non-holidays, due to continuing medical education lectures or conferences.
*We will be closed on New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Black Friday, and Christmas. We will be closed the Friday of the Yarmouth Clam Festival (due to charity parking lot use and traffic)
After Hours:
If you have a medical emergency, call 911 or go to your local emergency room. If your need is urgent and you'd like to speak with our on call physician after hours: call 207.847.9200 for our On Call Provider contact information. Calls are handled by Dr. Sharkey and Dr. Pierce on a rotating schedule.
New Patient Appointments:
Cancelled Appointments:
If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please contact us at least twenty-four hours in advance. If you cancel less than 24 hours prior to your appointment, you will be charged $50 for a missed appointment. We do keep a waiting list for patients and this allows us to offer someone else your appointment time. Rescheduling no show/missed appointments is done at the discretion of the doctor. Patients who no/show and frequently same day cancel their appointments risk being discharged from the practice.
Office Environment
Our goal is to create an environment that is peaceful and nurturing for our patients. We see people who are immune compromised, medically fragile, and have chemical sensitivities. We therefore ask that if you are sick please wear a mask. Cell phones are turned off while you are in the office. We also ask that you refrain from wearing any perfumes or products with strong fragrances, and that you not smoke prior to or at least an hour after your appointment. You may want to arrange childcare for young children who might have difficulty being patient while their parent is being cared for.
Motor Vehicle Injuries
If you are being seen for an injury that is the result of a motor vehicle accident, you will be paying for your appointment and you can submit a "superbill" to your insurance or the responsible parties to reimburse you. We do not bill third parties or insurance even if they were at fault.
Worker’s Compensation Injuries
If you are being seen for a work related injury or illness, you will be paying for your appointment and you can submit a "superbill" to your employer or to workman's comp to reimburse you. We do not bill third parties or insurance.
